PLAYER OF THE WEEK: FC United Kingdoms George Almeida

LA MIRADA, CA (November 27, 2024) – FC United Kingdom forward George Almeida has been selected SWPL Player of the Week.

Almeida scored the match-winning goal as FC United Kingdom opened up the Group Stage of the 24/25 Raul Briones Cup with a 3-2 victory over Irvine FC Reserves at Orange County Great Park in Irvine, CA, on Saturday, Nov. 23.

A native of Brazil, Almeida recently played for Irvine Zeta FC and was among the leading goal scorers during the 2024 season in the National Independent Soccer Association (NISA). He is a graduate of CSU Dominguez Hills.

The SWPL Player of the Week is selected from nominations from league members.
