SWPL PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Inland Empire FCs Hector Rivera

LA MIRADA, CA (NOV. 2, 2022) – Inland Empire FC forward Hector Rivera has been selected SWPL Player of the Week.

Born in Guadalajara, Mexico, Rivera scored five goals in a 9-0 victory over FC Golden State Force in a SoCal Premier 2022/23 Season match on Saturday, Oct. 29. Rivera was in the starting XI and played all 90 minutes as Inland Empire FC (2-1-3 overall) moved up to fourth in the Men's First Division table.

Rivera, 21, played and graduated from San Bernardino High School. He was among the leading scorers in the recent SoCal Premier's Men's Under-23 summer season, and currently leads IEFC with eight goals this season. 

The SWPL Player of the Week is selected from nominations from league members.
