LA MIRADA, CA (JULY 12, 2022) – This wasn't just beginner's luck.

Wenatchee All-Stars FC dominated its competition to claim the NISA Independent Cup Pacific Region and earn a matchup against Bay Cities FC on July 23.

"We're trying to put us on the map, and we're going to Bay Cities and letting them know that we're out here and not just a team from a small town," Wenatchee All-Stars FC General Manager David Sanchez said. "We're the only club putting in the work for Washington State in the NISA Independent Cup, and we're here to show that's there's enough talent and skill in Central Washington to bring scouts to see our players instead of always sending them out. There's quality here and we're giving the youth players opportunities to be noticed."

The Central Washington-based club defeated Modesto City FC 3-0 on July 2, and followed it up with a 3-1 victory over Battleborn FC on Saturday, July 9 to finish with 17 points based on the NISA Independent Cup scoring system.

"It was either them or us. That's the motto," Sanchez said. "It's been a great journey so far for the community. Our goal was to make history, and we're going to continue making history."

Wenatchee All-Stars FC was created in 2020 and is passionate about community growth and giving high-level players a bridge to continue their playing careers.

This is the club's first appearance in the NISA Independent Cup.

All NISA Independent Cup matches are broadcast on Eleven Sports.
